Dans la nuit du vendredi 23 au samedi 24 juin, les mercenaires de Wagner qui étaient déployés en Ukraine dans le cadre de l’ «opération militaire spéciale» ont investi le territoire russe à environ 600 km au sud de Moscou, ils ont revendiqué la prise de contrôle d’infrastructures militaires à Rostov. c’ est un acte de trahison , selon Vladimir Poutine.
Le chef de la milice Wagner, Evgueni Prigojine, est entré ouvertement en rébellion contre l’état-major de l’armée russe, dans la nuit du vendredi 23 juin au samedi 24 juin. Son groupe paramilitaire a pris le contrôle de Rostov, une ville à environ 600 km au sud de Moscou comptant 1 million d’ habitant. Evgueni Prigojine, haut-lieu du commandement des opérations militaires contre l’Ukraine s’est mis en route pour Moscou, Vladimir Poutine l’a accusé de « trahison », évoquant un « coup de poignard dans le dos ».
« C‘ est un coup de poignard dans le dos de notre pays e notre peuple », a déclaré Vladimir Poutine dans une adresse à la nation. « Ce a quoi nous faisons face, ce n‘ est rien d‘ autre qu‘ une trahison. Une trahison provoquée par les ambitions démesurées et des intérêts personnels » de Prigojine, a-t-il affirmé.
Le chef d’État russe a lancé un appel à l’unité à la télévision. Il ne « laissera pas » une « guerre civile » se produire. Vladimir Poutine a accusé Evguéni Prigojine, le chef de Wagner, de « trahison » et d’avoir « trahi » la Russie à cause de ses « ambitions démesurées ». Il a également promis une réponse « implacable » contre les auteurs de la mutinerie.
Le ministère de la Défense a appelé, samedi, les combattants de Wagner à déposer les armes, alors que Prigojine a, lui, demandé au ministre de la Défense, Sergueï Choïgou, de venir le rencontrer à Rostov, où la situation est « difficile » selon Vladimir Poutine, pour mettre fin à cette insurection.
