Après sa deuxième audition, la directrice générale de la Caisse d’Assistance Sociale (CAS) a été arrêtée dans la matinée du mardi 25 avril 2023 pour mauvaise gestion de fonds de ladite institution.
Edwine Tonton a été parmi les accusés de corruption du rapport transmis au Parquet de Port-au-Prince, par l’Unité de Lutte Contre la Corruption (ULCC). Après sa deuxième audition par le juge d’instruction Jean Wilner Morin, Madame Tonton a été mise sous les verrous.
Elle n’est pas la première à être mise derrière les barreaux dans le cadre de cette affaire de corruption au sein de la CAS, Pierre Richard Valles, comptable en chef de l’institution a été lui aussi arrêté pour corruption, le 19 Avril dernier.
