Le Bureau des Nations unies pour la coordination des affaires humanitaires (OCHA) a lancé un appel de fonds en vue de venir en aide à des personnes en situation humanitaire critique en Haïti. Le bureau veut collecter 720 millions de dollars pour financer un plan d’aide pour 3 millions de personnes.
Alors que l’insécurité s’est répandue dans le pays, détériorant ainsi le niveau de vie d’une bonne partie de la population, l’ONU, à travers son bureau des affaires humanitaires, (OCHA) et ses partenaires, lance le plus grand appel de fonds pour Haïti depuis le tremblement de terre de 2010, vue l’ampleur, la gravité et l’urgence de la crise humanitaire .
Le bureau évalue que plus de 5,2 millions d’haïtiens ont besoin d’aide humanitaire. Le présent plan vise à venir en aide à 60% d’entre eux, soit 3,2 millions. La Coordinatrice de l’OCHA en Haïti Ulrika Richardson, eu à souligner que « Le Plan de réponse humanitaire de cette année arrive à un moment critique ». Le plan complet devra être publié le 19 de ce mois.
« Alors que la situation dans le pays se détériore rapidement, le Plan pour cette année répondra aux besoins humanitaires et de protection les plus urgents, tout en renforçant la résilience des populations et des institutions aux chocs naturels. Dans le même temps, ce que le peuple haïtien souhaite désespérément est la paix et la sécurité, et nous devons tous soutenir les efforts déployés à cette fin », a ajouté la coordinatrice.

Today, I went to the beach with my kids.
