Au moins 11 personnes sont mortes et 67 autres disparues, dans un glissement de terrain survenu dans la soirée du dimanche 26 au lundi 27 mars 2023, dans la province de Chimborazo.
11 morts, 67 disparus et 163 maisons ont été touchées selon le dernier bilan officiel. Les secouristes poursuivent leurs opérations de recherche.
Le glissement terrain a été causé par une coulée de boue qui s’est abattue sur un quartier excentrique accroché au sein de la montagne.
Toutefois, des dispositions ont été prises telles que des chiens renifleurs, des groupes de sauveteurs afin de poursuivre les recherches. Et, les habitants de cette province ne restent pas indifférents à la situation et fouillent les décombres dans l’espoir de trouver des survivants.
Les habitants crient au désespoir face à cette situation en regardant leurs proches ensevelis sans rien pouvoir faire.
