Une délégation du Bureau Intégré des Nations Unies en Haïti (BINUH) menée par Helen La Lime, représentante spéciale de l’Organisation des Nations Unies (ONU), a visité, le mardi 28 février 2023, le Ministère de la Justice et de la Sécurité Publique (MJSP), a annoncé ledit ministère haïtien sur sa page Facebook.
Une réunion s’est déroulée le mardi 28 février entre une délégation du BINUH et le cabinet de la ministre a.i de la Justice et de la Sécurité Publique, Emmelie Prophète Milcé, au cours de laquelle les problèmes, dont fait face le système judiciaire haïtien depuis quelques temps, ont été abordés par les responsables.
«Entre autres sujets, la réforme des Parquets, la lutte contre la détention préventive prolongée, illégale et arbitraire, la création de pôles judiciaires spécialisés ciblant les infractions économiques et financières, ainsi que les violences basées sur le genre ont été largement débattus», a fait savoir le MJSP dans sa note rendue publique via sa page Facebook.
«Les deux parties ont convenu de travailler en synergie en vue de mettre en œuvre un projet d’appui à la justice qui adresse objectivement ces fléaux constituant, quant à eux, un frain à la saine distribution de la justice en Haïti», peut-on lire dans cette publication.
Le directeur de Cabinet de la ministre, Paul Eronce Villard et le directeur du MJSP, Jean Fallières Bazelais ont aussi participé dans cette rencontre.
