Se trouvant à bord d’un « school bus » volé, le nommé Renold Méttelus a été arrêté, le mercredi 22 février dernier, par les forces de l’ordre sur la route de la Grande Rivière du Nord, commune du département du Nord, a annoncé la Police Nationale d’Haïti (PNH) ce mercredi 1er mars 2023.
Selon le communiqué de la PNH, c’est le CDRO du Nord qui avait donné une alerte sur le nommé Renold Méttelus. En effet, ce dernier a trouvé son arrestation le 22 février écoulé sur la route de la Grande Rivière du Nord, en possession d’un school bus «qu’il vient à peine de voler».
Suite cette importante arrestation, «les agents du SDPJ/Nord, accompagnés du Juge de Paix Me Renaud Mon-Cœur et son greffier, Me Patrice Bertrand Augustin, se sont rendus au garage dénommé « Jerricot », situé à Carrefour Cagnotte, une localité dépendante de la commune d’Acul-du-Nord», a précisé la PNH.
Elle a indiqué que le présumé voleur Renold Méttelus avait utilisé ce garage «pour garer l’ensemble des véhicules volés».
D’après le procès verbal dressé par le juge de paix Renaud Mon-Cœur, «plusieurs véhicules suspects démolis», «plusieurs carcasses ont été retrouvés», et «plusieurs véhicules brûlés».
«À cet effet, des scellés ont été apposés au garage par le juge en question. Quant au nommé Renold Méttelus, il est placé en garde à vue pour les suites judiciaires nécessaires», a ajouté l’institution policière.
