Le nombre de cas suspects de Cholera en Haïti est passé à l’espace d’un mois environ de 15.400, à plus de 24.200, soit une augmentation de 57% selon un rapport de l’organisation des nations unis en date du 19 janvier 2023.

Avec plus de 16.000 cas, l’Ouest est le département qui connait le plus de cas, soit plus de 65% des cas suspects. Cependant, les départements qui connaissent l’augmentation la plus significative sont le Nord-Est, qui connaît ses premiers cas suspects, le Sud 63% d’augmentation sur 7 jours, et le Nord-Ouest 52%, selon l’ONU.
Notons que, Le choléra est réapparu en Haïti à la fin du mois de septembre dernier, pendant la Periode des manifestations de rues avec la fameux slogan « Bwa kale » après plusieurs années qu’aucun cas n’avait été détécté.
