Le procureur de Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, via la plateforme Twitter, a annoncé ce mardi 6 décembre 2022, que la Trump Organization, entreprise de la famille de l’ancien président américain Donald Trump, a été reconnue coupable de fraudes financières et fiscales, au terme d’un procès qui a duré plus d’un mois.
Selon le procureur de Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, qui a précisé sur Twitter que l’ex-président des États-Unis Donald Trump n’était pas jugé dans cette affaire, après plus d’un mois d’audiences, le jury s’était retiré ce lundi pour libérer, en prononçant que «la Trump Corporation et la Trump Payroll Corporation coupables sur tous les chefs d’accusation».
Toujours d’après M. Bragg, ces deux entreprises de la famille Trump étaient jugées pour fraudes fiscales et financières, falsifications de déclarations comptables dans l’objectif de dissimuler aux services fiscaux des compensations financières de certains cadres de haut niveau.
«C’est une affaire de cupidité et de tricherie. À Manhattan, aucune société n’est au-dessus de la loi», a déclaré le procureur Alvin Bragg.
«Pendant 13 ans, la Trump Corporation et la Trump Payroll Corporation ont échappé à la loi en accordant à des cadres de haut niveau des avantages et des rémunérations somptueuses, tout dissimulant intentionnellement ces avantages aux autorités fiscales pour éviter de payer des impôts», a-t-il ajouté.
