Malgré que certains regroupements politiques ou autorités du pays comme le Premier Ministre Ariel Henry et le SDP ont levé la voix pour réclamer la fin du mandat des sénateurs restants, ce mardi 11 Janvier 2022, ces derniers ont réélu Joseph LAMBERT président du Sénat de la République.
Le Sénat de la République a frappé fort. Il a élu un bureau restreint de trois membres tenant compte de sa configuration actuelle. À l’issue de ces élections, Joseph LAMBERT est réélu président, Kedlaire Augustin, vice-président et Ralph Féthière, Questeur.
Avec 7 voix pour, une contre et une abstention, le sénateur du Sud-est est réélu à la tête du bureau.
Joseph LAMBERT était contre tout départ prématuré des sénateurs restants le deuxième lundi de Janvier 2022. C’est pour cette raison, il soutient fermement que le mandat du reste du Sénat prendra fin le deuxième lundi de Janvier 2023. Une position que certains regroupements et autorités du pays ne partagent pas. Le SDP, par exemple, croit que le mandat des sénateurs a bel et bien pris fin ce mois de janvier. De fait, ils devaient laisser l’enceinte du parlement.

Pour rappel, contrairement à ce que certains, à l’instar du premier ministre defacto, les hommes du SDP et certains PHTKistes et Jovenelistes pensent, Joseph LAMBERT et les autres sénateurs tiennent fermement leur position et ne comptent pas négocier avec personne à propos de ce sujet.
