Il réagissait autour de la proposition d’une frange des autorités dominicaines qui réclame la fermeture des marchés binationaux.
Haïti et la République Dominicaine partagent depuis des décennies des liens commerciaux. Suivant des rapports sur la balance des échanges, les entreprises dominicaines sont les plus grands bénéficiaires. En moins de 5 ans, les haïtiens ont rapporté environ 1.6 milliard de dollars américains dans l’achat de produits dominicains, le paiement des études et la location d’appartement. Dans ces endroits où haïtiens et dominicains se côtoient chaque jour, la majorité des produits sont fabriqués en terre voisine. Les haïtiens ne sont que des consommateurs. La sécurité même des marchés binationaux est assuré par des gardes de l’armée dominicaine.
En choisissant de fermer, ces lieux très fréquentés, le président dominicains Luis Abinader risque de soulever la colère des entreprises dominicaines qui gagnent chaque jour des million de pesos, indique le parlementaire.
Notons que le journal dominicain qui avait publié l’article relatif à cette décision allait le supprimé quelques heures après.
