Des 17 missionnaires se trouvent 16 américains et un canadien. Enlevés depuis samedi 16 Octobre, les otages sont toujours au main des ravisseurs qui réclament un million de dollars par tête, soit 17 millions au total.
L’information fait la une dans leurs pays d’origine. La police canadienne dit prendre très au sérieux cette affaire lors d’interview avec l’agence “EFE”. Les efforts se multiplent avec les autorités policières des États-Unis et d’Haïti en vue d’obtenir leur relaxation.
Les autorités canadiennes entendent s’informer davantage auprès de leurs homologues haïtiens et des responsables de l’organisation Christian Aid Ministries sur les conditions dans lesquelles ces derniers ont été enlevés.
