Afghanistan|-. Des talibans interdisent le taillage ou rasage des barbes.

Les talibans de la province afghane de l’Helmand, au sud-ouest du pays, ont interdit aux coiffeurs de raser ou tailler des barbes. Ils affirment que cela enfreint leur interprétation de la loi islamique et promettent des punitions à tous ceux qui enfreindraient cette règle.

Difficile de savoir si c’est aussi le cas ailleurs dans le pays mais certains barbiers de Kaboul disent avoir reçu la même consigne. «Les combattants continuent d’affluer et nous ordonnent d’arrêter de tailler les barbes», a témoigné un barbier de la capitale. Un autre, qui dirige l’un des plus grands salons de la ville, a affirmé avoir reçu un coup de téléphone d’une personne se présentant comme un fonctionnaire du gouvernement. Il lui a demandé de «cesser de suivre les styles américains» et de ne raser ou tailler aucune barbe.

«Les salons de coiffure et les barbiers deviennent des entreprises interdites. C’était mon travail pendant 15 ans et je ne pense pas pouvoir continuer», a déclaré un autre professionnel. Mais même sans interdiction formelle, de plus en plus d’hommes renonceraient simplement car «ils ne veulent pas être pris pour cible par les combattants talibans dans les rues. Ils veulent se fondre dans la masse et leur ressembler», a expliqué un autre.
