Le président Luis Abinader a lancé mercredi la construction d’un téléphérique dans la ville de Santiago avec un premier palais qui reliera 14 communautés, avec près de 123 000 habitants, à travers six stations.
Pour les travaux, les fonds qui ne seront plus investis dans le téléphérique de Los Alcarrizos seront utilisés car il n’atteindra plus le kilomètre 9 de l’autoroute Duarte.
Le président a expliqué que, dans sa première étape, le système aura la capacité de transporter 4 500 passagers par heure dans chaque sens, déplaçant plus de 72 000 passagers par jour.
Les stations seront interconnectées avec le monorail qui sera construit dans des phases ultérieures, ainsi que des bus et des vélos. Tous constituent le Système de Transport Intégré de Santiago (SITS), ce qui implique une intégration physique, technologique et tarifaire.
Le coût du billet sera publié sur la base de l’étude tarifaire et les heures d’ouverture seront de 6h00 du matin à 10h00 du soir.
L’itinéraire ira du secteur de La Yaguita del Pastor au terminal central de Las Carreras à Pueblo Nuevo, avec 3,21 kilomètres et quatre stations : la gare du terminal de Las Carreras, la gare du Mirador del Yaque, la gare de Bella Vista et la gare de La Yaguita.
Il continue du secteur UASD de Santiago à La Barranquita jusqu’au quartier de Pékin, avec 3,31 kilomètres et 3 stations : la gare de Ciudad Universitaria, la gare de La Yaguita et la gare de Pékin.
Le téléphérique de Santiago sera développé par l’Unité d’exécution pour la réhabilitation des quartiers et des environnements (URBE) en coordination avec le Bureau pour le développement des projets de mobilité urbaine et interurbaine du ministère de la Présidence.
« Le téléphérique de Santiago a été développé pour survoler les zones les plus encombrées de la ville au pont Hermanos Patiño et au pont Ercilia Pepin, donnant accès aux secteurs marginalisés le long des rives de la rivière Yaque del Norte », a déclaré l’ingénieur Jhael Isa. , directeur du Bureau de développement des projets de mobilité urbaine et interurbaine.
