Lettre ouverte d’une Sénégalaise aux Haïtiens!

Chers cousins d’Haïti,

Je vous écris depuis la terre mère d’Afrique notamment depuis le Sénégal pour être sûre que tout va bien au pays de Jean-Jacques Dessalines mais surtout pour pouvoir vous poser quelques questions que vous trouverez peut-être pertinentes vue votre fierté de première nation noire indépendante du monde. Une vérité historique, mais questionnable!

J’ai pris mon temps hier pour visualiser quelques vidéos dans lesquelles j’ai vu vos frères et vos soeurs, mes cousins et cousines, traités comme des esclaves par des policiers américains à cheval dans l’État de Texas comme si on était au temps colonial. J’ai vu aussi des photos où des femmes et des hommes haïtiens risquent leurs vies en traversant des rivières dangereuses avec des fillettes de 2 ans sur leurs épaules. J’ai vu de ces choses horribles, terrifiantes, et j’ai pleuré!

Après avoir pleuré un temps, je me suis résolue de m’adresser ouvertement à vous via la plateforme Profile Ayiti dirigée par un cousin dont je salue le travail au passage avec le risque qu’il ne publie pas ma lettre vue sa teneur, afin de vous demander les questions qui vont suivre:

J’ai appris depuis l’école secondaire que vous êtes originaires d’Afrique, vous avez connu plusieurs siècles d’esclavage en Amérique notamment à Saint-Domingue, puis un certain Jean-Jacques Dessalines vous a donné votre liberté. Vous êtes devenus depuis novembre 1803, la première nation noire libre du monde. Sur la base de cette histoire héroïque, comment faites-vous pour accepter aujourd’hui que vos dirigeants vous poussent à quitter votre patrie fondée par le sang de vos ancêtres? Comment acceptez-vous que vos leaders ne puissent pas vous défendre devant les pays étrangers et qu’ils se comportent comme des traitres?

J’ai aussi appris qu’après avoir arraché votre liberté au prix du sang, vous êtes allés libérer d’autres peuples dans l’Amérique latine dont le Vénézuéla, la Bolivie ou l’Équateur. Si vraiment vous avez fait tout ça, pourquoi n’êtes-vous pas capables de vous construire un pays convenable aujourd’hui? Les rumeurs disent que c’est à cause des néo-colons, j’ai même vu un poste sur Profile Ayiti pour l’anniversaire de Dessalines où l’on dit que l’ennemi est revenu sous une autre forme. Mais si vous le savez, pourquoi vous ne vous débarassez pas d’eux comme en 1803? Qu’êtes-vous devenus?

En 2010, votre pays a été victime d’un très gros tremblement de terre au cours duquel 300 000 personnes ont péri et des villes entières ont été déruites. J’ai vu des articles où il est mentionné que l’argent de reconstruction d’Haïti a été volé par une famille américaine en complicité avec des élites politiques et économiques locales. Certains parlent de 11 milliards de dollars américains volés en deux ans. Si tout ça est vrai, pourquoi avez-préféré de vous rendre au Chili ou au Brésil au lieu de vous battre sur le terrain pour demander qu’on vous rende des comptes sur cet argent? Ne comprenez-vous pas que cette somme peut vous mettre à un bon niveau de développement durable si l’argent est restitué pour être bien dépensé ensuite?

En 2019, des rapports de l’un de vos cours administratives, la cour suprême des comptes, ont révélé que vos leaders ont détourné près de 4 milliards de dollars américains dans des projets fictifs. Cet argent qui a été donné sous forme de gaz par Hugo Chavez à votre pays n’a servi qu’à enrichir les élites politiques et économiques du pays. Vous avez lancé le mouvement « où est l’argent petrocaribe? » supporté par le panafricaniste béninois Kémi Séba qui s’est rendu jusqu’en Port-au-Prince pour faire des conférences. Mais ironiquement vous vous êtes arrêtés, vous avez cassé le mouvement sans avoir fait le procès. Les rumeurs disent que des traitres ont infiltré le mouvement et vous ont désorganisés. Alors dites-moi, si cela est vrai, en quoi Jean-Jacques Dessalines, le leader jusqu’auboutiste radicaliste, est-il votre père? En quoi un homme comme Henry Christophe qui a défié le général français Charles Leclerc dans Cap-Haïtien en 1802 est-il votre modèle de fierté? N’êtes-vous pas des usurpateurs avérés?

Pour finir, que mes questions vous mettent en colère ou vous fassent prendre conscience, je m’en réjouirais parce qu’au plus profond de mon être, je vous aime. Vous me faites souffrir par l’image que vous projetez dans le monde. Trop de fois, vous oubliez ce que vous êtes, du coup les autres questionnent votre histoire glorieuse. Vous m’humiliez, vous êtes égoïstes, vous refusez de devenir une grande nation alors que vous en avez les pleins moyens. Vous ne vivez que pour vous alors que l’Afrique compte sur vous, vous vous moquez de nous! Vous passez votre temps à rappeler aux Américains que vous leur avez aidé à faire leur indépendance, que vous avez fait Savannah, alors que vous refusez de bâtir Haïti!
