En raison de la catastrophe provoquée par le séisme du 14 août dans les départements des Nippes, du Sud et de la Grand’ Anse, le calendrier scolaire établi par le ministère de l’Éducation nationale et de la Formation professionnelle (MENFP) qui prévoyait un total de 196 jours de classe, a été modifié par le gouvernement. Ce mardi 21 septembre 2021, la rentre des classes a bel et bien lieu comme l’avait annoncé la Ministre de l’Education Nationale et de la Formation professionnelle Marie Lucie Joseph.
Dans une école située au centre-ville de Port-au-Prince, le responsable dit constater un faible taux de fréquentation d’élèves dans les salles de classe pour la première journée. Une journée qui est loin d’être une réussite s’il faut en croire ses propos. Comparativement à l’année précédente, cette directrice d’école a fait remarquer que 50% des écoliers et plus ne sont pas prêts à rejoindre les classes en raison, dit-elle, des difficultés économiques.
Les parents n’ont pas les moyens d’envoyer leurs enfants à l’école, voilà ce qui explique pourquoi les salles sont presque vides dans plusieurs établissements du centre-ville. Selon ce qu’a fait le responsable de cette établissements scolaires.
Au lycée Jean Jacques Dessalines, on n’y remarquait à peu près une centaine de lycéens qui se réunissaient dans la cour.
Pour une première semaine de classe ou entamant une nouvelle année académique, il n’y avait pas la frénésie qu’on voit habituellement dans les rues. La réouverture des classes ne se faisait pas au même moment pour toutes les écoles.
