Guinée-Politique|-Alpha Condé refuse de donner sa démission.

Le président déchu, Alpha Condé, gardé prisonnier par le Groupement Spécial des Forces Armées (GFS) à Conakry, s’entête à garder le pouvoir et pense à son retour. La Cédéao appelle à de nouvelles élections.

Le Président guinéen refuse de céder aux pressions militaires. Si ses partisans le reconnaissent comme un président élu, légitime, pour d’autres c’est un Alpha Condé méconnaissable, déconnecté de la réalité. Mais un fait certain, le Président ne veut pas se laisser vaincre si facilement, il ne veut pas donner la satisfaction aux auteurs du putsch, de les reconnaître et de démissionner.

Environ deux (2) semaines après avoir été délogé du fauteuil présidentiel, il se trouve sans domicile fixe. Bien escorté à chaque fois, Alpha Condé se déplace de maisons en maisons. Dans les premières heures, le chef de l’État a été emmené dans un hôtel dont son fils est actionnaire. Quatre jours plus tard, il se trouvait dans un espace du quartier général des forces armées.

C’est là que la délégation des ministres des affaires étrangères de la Communauté économique des Etats d’Afrique de l’Ouest (Cédéao) l’a rencontré, le 10 septembre, pour s’assurer de sa bonne santé. « Il est logé avec son cuisinier et son médecin. Les militaires disent : “c’est notre papa, on ne peut pas lui faire du mal” », rapporte l’un de ses visiteurs.

La délégation se sent mal à l’aise et déclare que Alpha Condé est le principal responsable de sa chute. Elle appelle à de nouvelles élections pour sortir le pays de la crise.
