La cérémonie s’est déroulée en présence du ministre de la justice et de la sécurité publique, de nombreux acteurs du système judiciaire et des partenaires internationaux.
Dans ses propos de circonstances, le titulaire du MJSP, Rockfeller Vincent estime que la construction de ce batiment contenant 19 salles et 18 toilettes temoigne de la volonté du gouvernement et de ses partenaires à mettre des bouchées doubles pour renforcer le pouvoir judiciaire et permettre aux professionnels de la justice d’évoluer dans un environnement plus sain. Il invite les usagers a en prendre bien soin.
Pour sa part, la representante du Programme des Nations-Unies pour le Developpement, Stéphanie Ziebell, indique que le PNUD a été honoré de pouvoir contribuer à l’aboutissement de ce projet. Elle des partenaires comme le Canada qui a également participé dans les efforts visant à construire le batiment situé au dos du penitencier national.
Stéphanie Ziebell a, en outre, plaidé en faveur d’une meilleure prise en charge des tribunaux dans certaines provinces qui sont, selon elle, loin de répondre aux normes internationales. Elle a donné la garantie que le Programme des Nations-Unies pour le Développement va continuer d’appuyer les autorités.
