Face aux problemes de l ’ insécurité á l ’ entrée sud de la capitale, l ’ organisation médicale des Médecins Sans Fronti𝗲̀res (MSF) á Martissant ont obligés á plier leurs bagages. Le texte ci-dessous présente les raisons pour lesquelles ils ont pris cette decision.

Après 15 ans de présence continue dans la zone de Martissant, Médecins sans frontières a dû vider les lieux. L’Organisation a eu à déménager selon un créneau horaire strict et précis ; donc elle n’a pas eu le temps d’enlever ni son logo ni les autres signes et inscriptions d’identification du centre d’urgence. MSF persiste pour dire qu’elle dénie toutes responsabilités de ce qui pourrait se passer dans les anciens bâtiments du Centre d’urgence à Martissant 25.

Toujours déterminé à continuer d’accompagner la Population haïtienne en générale et les plus démunis en particulier, MSF poursuit les discussions afin de pouvoir relocaliser son centre d’urgence dans l’aire métropolitaine de Port-au-Prince.

MSF continuait de nourrir l’espoir de revenir à Martissant, car l’année 2021 ramène 30 ans de présence continue en Haïti et le Centre d’urgence condensait la moitié de cette histoire. Les activités de MSF à Martissant ciblaient, rien que dans la proximité immédiate du Centre, une population d’environ 300 000 personnes. Les soins dispensés concernaient la prise en charge des traumas, des urgences médicales, gynéco- obstétricales (jaune, orange et rouge selon le système de triage SATS).

Et pour l’année 2020, MSF à Martissant a admis 33 100 personnes aux urgences.

Toujours à Martissant et via le Centre d’urgence, MSF appuyait 9 autres structures de santé à Martissant et dans les environs. Le centre comptait parmi son personnel 270 nationaux et 4 expatriés. Ses activités communautaires portaient essentiellement sur la sensibilisation au Covid-19, aux violences sexuelles, à l’hygiène, à l’asthme ; et à l’appui à la chloration de 20 kiosques de la DINEPA.

MSF continue de demander aux acteurs armés en Haïti de respecter la sécurité du personnel de santé, des patients, du matériel et des structures médicales ; les véhicules et ambulances doivent aussi pouvoir circuler en toute sécurité.
