C’est ce departement qui a vu naitre le 58ème président de la République d’Haïti. Sa commune natale est Trou-du-Nord où à l’appel de plusieurs organisations, des milliers de personnes toutes couches confondues ont gagné les rues pour réclamer justice en faveur du président lachement et sauvagement assassiné en sa résidence privée, le 7 juillet dernier, à Pèlerin 5.
La ville natale du président de la République a été le théâtre, ce vendredi 16 juillet, d’une grande marche pacifique dont le but principal est de réclamer justice pour le président Jovenel Moïse et sa famille. Portant des t-shirts blanc sur lesquels on pouvait remarquer le portrait du défunt, les manifestants ont défilé dans plusieurs rues de la ville. Ils ont exprimé leur indignation suite au constat des signes de torture remarqués sur le cadavre du président.
Pour certains d’entre eux, Jovenel Moïse est mort en martyre pour ses convictions et son rêve de voir une société où les chances de réussite seront égales. Ils soulignent que la radiographie du cadavre du Chef de l’État révèle plusieurs fractures osseuses au crâne, aux bras et aux pieds.
Selon le procès verbal du juge de paix qui a fait le constat du cadavre, 12 orifices faits à l’aide de projectiles ont été remarqués sur le corps de la victime.
En marge d’une conférence de presse donné en la résidence officielle du premier ministre ai., le ministre de la culture et de la communiction, Pradel Henriquez a annoncé que les funérailles du 58ème président de la République sont prévues pour le 23 juillet prochain.
