Assimi Goïta investi comme nouveau président du Mali.
Le colonel Assimi Goïta a été investi dans ses fonctions hier lundi 7 juin 2021 en tant que nouveau président de la République du Mali, après avoir chassé les anciens chefs de la transition lors d’un coup de force. Le nouveau gouvernement aura à organiser des élections début 2022 en vue de remettre le pouvoir à des civils.
L’homme fort de la junte malienne, Assimi Goïta prend officiellement les rênes du pouvoir au Mali. La cérémonie de l’investiture a été organisée au Centre international de conférence de Bamako (CICB) où le nouveau chef de l’exécutif a prononcé un autre discours quelques temps après son assermentation.
Les promesses du nouveau président
Au cours de son discours d’investiture, Assimi Goïta promet de préserver le régime républicain malien ainsi que les acquis démocratiques. « Je jure devant Dieu et le peuple malien de préserver en toute fidélité le régime républicain […], de préserver les acquis démocratiques, de garantir l’unité nationale, l’indépendance de la patrie et l’intégrité du territoire national », a-t-il déclaré.
À l’issue de cette cérémonie de prestation de serment, les partenaires du Mali exigent aux hauts états-majors de l’armée de les garantir qu’ils donneront le pouvoir à des civils choisis par la voie des urnes. La communauté internationale de son côté, continue à condamner la prise du pouvoir du colonel Assimi Goïta aux moyens des armes. Celle-ci qualifie de coup d’État la façon dont le nouveau président est arrivé à la magistrature suprême du Mali.
Par ailleurs, plusieurs membres de cette communauté envisagent de ne pas supporter le nouveau chef d’État qui aura à diriger le Mali pour le reste de la transition.
Le premier ministre
Peu de temps avant son investiture, Assimi Goïta avait déjà révélé le nom du premier ministre de son gouvernement. Ainsi a-t-il choisi le Dr Choguel Kokala Maïga comme de chef de la primature. Celui-ci est le président du Mouvement du 05 juin – Rassemblement des forces patriotiques (M5-RFP). Il a été l’un des artisans des mouvements de mobilisation qui avaient conduit à l’arrestation suivie de démission du président Boubacar Kéita en août dernier.
Choguel Maïga est le premier ministre du pays, quatre-huit heures après le sommet extraordinaire des chefs d’État des pays de la Communauté économique des États de l’Afrique de l’ouest (Cédéao). Ce, en vue de trancher sur la crise politique qui sévit au Mali. Les dirigeants de la Cédéao au cours de ce sommet avaient décidé de suspendre le Mali de leur rang tout en exigeant la nomination d’un civil comme chef de primature.
La Cédéao a également exigé au nouveau chef de l’État malien de céder le pouvoir au président Bah Ndaw, arrêté par l’armée il y a quelques semaines. Celui-ci est, selon les dirigeants de cette organisation Ouest-africaine, devrait mener la transition et organiser des élections au cours du début de l’année 2022.
