Le parti Réveil d’Haïti fixe sa position

« La constitution de 1987 a causé du tort à la nation haïtienne », a déclaré le président du parti Réveil d’Haïti, Maurice Lapierre, lors d’une conférence donnée le mercredi 26 mai au local du parti, à Tabarre. Elle mérite d’être changée mais pas par n’importe qui, a laché le leader politique.

Les réactions autour de la tenue du référendum dont la réalisation est prévue pour le 27 juin prochain continuent de pleuvoir. À l’instar de plusieurs structures de l’opposition et de la société civile, le parti Réveil d’Haïti se dit en faveur d’une nouvelle constitution mais le moment n’est pas propice à un tel changement, estime le pasteur Maurice Lapierre. Pour le dirigeant politique, l’avant-projet de la nouvelle constitution est rempli de points positifs dont 80% ont été tirés d’un document que son parti avait élaboré notamment en ce qui a à trait à l’intégration de la diaspora haïtienne.

Cependant, l’équipe en place n’est pas assez crédible pour une telle entreprise, croit le président du parti Réveil d’Haïti. Maurice Lapierre, s’inscrit donc en faux contre la réalisation du référendum prévu pour le 27 juin prochain. Il accuse même les membres du Comité Consultatif Indépendant pour l’élaboration de la nouvelle constitution d’avoir plagié 80% du document.

Pour le pasteur Lapierre, la réalisation du référendum doit se faire avec l’accord de toute les forces vives du pays. Sur le terrain, dit-il avoir constaté, c’est tout le contraire. Une bonne partie de la société se méfie des réelles motivations des hommes au pouvoir.

Soulignons que plusieurs points à la base de critiques virulentes vis-à-vis de l’ébauche de la nouvelle loi mère ont été revus et corrigés dans la deuxième version de l’avant-projet. Selon les membres du Comité Consultatif Indépendant, d’autres modications sont encore possibles avant de soumettre le document final à l’approbation de la population qui devra être appelée en ces comices, le 27 juin 2021.
