Le Cavaly A.S Club de Léogane a eu un parcours impeccable dans la Ligue des Clubs Champions de la Caraïbe. Il a réussi à remporter avec brio le titre de ce prestigieux championnat déroulé en République Dominicaine du 15 au 25 mai dernier. Les distinctions sont multiples que ce soient collectives ou individuelles.

Pour la première fois de leur histoire en 46 ans, le Cavaly de Léogane a fait l’exploit malgré le nombre restreint de participation dans ce championnat. Il a râté le titre en 2009, mais aujourd’hui il ne l’a pas loupé . Être sacré champion dans ce grand tournoi caraïbéen, cela ne s’est pas vu depuis belle lurette avec les maigres ressources de nos clubs.

L’étincellant parcours du Cavaly de Léogane.

Le Cavaly surnommé le Cheval Rouge, fils de la fière cité d’Anacaona, vient d’inscrire son nom dans l’histoire de cette coupe. Le parcours irréprochable du club a débuté par la correction 3 – 0 infligée à la Curaçao. En passant par la pulvérisation de l’Olympique Cayenne de la Guyanne française 5 – 0 et la précision de l’Hope International de St-Vincent et les Grenadines 2- 1, à noter que c’est l’unique but encaissé par le club.

Ensuite, au second tour, le parcours continue sur la même lancée, 2 – 0 contre l’As Samaritaine de la Martinique, pour enfin boucler splendidement en finale 3 – 0 contre l’Inter Moengotapoe de la Suriname.

Les distinctions recueillies sont multiples. En collectif, le club est champion et gagne la meilleure attaque avec 15 buts marqués et la meilleure défense pour 1 seul but encaissé dans l’ensemble des 5 matchs.

Individuellement, Gamael Dorvil, le natif de Miragoâne et attaquant du Cavaly, reçoit repectivement le prix de meilleur jeune joueur, de meilleur buteur avec 5 buts marqués et de meilleur joueur de la compétition. Le gardien Emmanuel Saint-Félix gagne les gants d’or pour 4 sorties vierges.
