Des organisations de la diaspora haïtienne se préparent à descendre dans les rues de Washington
Selon l’un des organisateurs, Astrel Jean Garry, plusieurs organisations constituées de ressortissants haïtiens vont fouler le macadam dans la capitale américaine le 18 mai prochain. L’initiative s’inscrit dans la perspective de dénoncer l’insécurité grandissante ainsi que l’ingérence de la communauté internationale dans les affaires internes d’Haïti.
Pour les responsables de VOIHLA, de Haïti Brigade entre autres, la situation en Haïti est très préoccupante. La diaspora haïtienne ne peut pas rester les bras croisés, indique Astrel Jean Garry.
Les différents massacres perpétrés dans les quartiers populaires dont La Saline, Carrefour-Feuilles, Bel’Air, entre autres, indignent les compatriotes de la diaspora qui craignent pour la vie de leurs proches, soulignent les organisateurs.
Les assassinats à répétitions, le kidnapping qui atteint son plus haut niveau, sont autant d’autres facteurs qui motivent la réalisation de cette grande marche en solidarité au peuple haïtien, précise M. Astrel. Il indique que ce mouvement est appuyé par plusieurs artistes haïtiens dont Beethova Obas, Carole Demesmin, Farah Juste et King Kino.
Les participants sont attendus à l’angle de 3rd street SW et independence Avenue pour également dire non au référendum prévu pour le 27 juin prochain.
