Haïti-Covid-19: Le MSPP alerte sur la découverte de deux variants.

Dans un avis numéroté 587, publié le vendredi 14 Mai 2021, le Ministère de la Santé Publique et de la Population informe avoir découvert, via le laboratoire national de la santé publique, deux variants de la covid-19 dans le pays. Il a, en outre, réitéré son appel à la vigilance et au respect des mesures barrières.

Selon le laboratoire national, une investigation sur l’évolution de la pandémie de la covid-19 dans le pays a permis de découvrir deux variants. Il s’agit des variants brésiliens et anglais dont le niveau de contagiosité est très élevé.
Le MSPP exhorte une fois de plus la population à respecter les mesures barrières. Port obligatoire du masque, lavage systématique des mains, prise de température obligatoire avant d’entrer dans les espaces publics, le respect de la distanciation physique (1,50 m), en sont quelques-unes.

Selon le denier bilan, de mars 2020 au 10 mai 2021, le ministère a dénombré 13,305 cas de contaminations, 271 décès pour un taux de létalité de 2.04%. Le bilan total pour le globe est estimé à 161 millions de cas pour un total de 3.5 millions de morts enregistrés.

C’est la deuxième note publiée par le Mspp en moins de vingt-quatre heures. Hier jeudi 13 mai, le ministère avait fait état d' »une augmentation considérable du nombre de cas suspects, de cas positifs et de patients hospitalisés » pour ce début du mois de mai.

Par ailleurs, le Mspp reconnait que « l’engagement de tout un chacun permettra de réduire les taux de contamination et de décès liés à la pandémie ». Le Mspp veut rassurer la population que « des instructions formelles ont été passées aux directions techniqies et normatives pour le renforcement les activités de surveillance épidémiologiques notamment au niveau des ports, des aéroports, des villes frontalières ainsi que le suivi des cas contact ».

Notons qu’en janvier 2021, le Ministère de la Santé Publique et de la Population avait sollicité l’intervention de la présidence et de la primature pour un rétablissement de l’état d’urgence sanitaire en vue d’empêcher l’apparition d’une deuxième vague de la pandémie sur le territoire national.
