Une rencontre organisée entre le gouvernement colombien et les principaux chefs de file des mouvements de protestation populaire n’a pas porté de résultat.
Les mouvements de protestation populaire en Colombie s’amplifient durant ces derniers jours, le président de droite, Iván Duque Márquez, lors d’une réunion, a rencontré les différents leaders des manifestations des rues en vue de trouver un dénouement à la crise. Mais ce dialogue n’a débouché sur aucun résultat positif. Les chefs de file de ces mouvements ont déclaré que le gouvernement n’a fait preuve d’aucune empathie à l’égard de leurs revendications.
Par ailleurs, le gouvernement de son côté, a souligné que la rencontre a été exploratoire. Et qu’il a espéré de parvenir à des accords avec les manifestants.
Les mouvements de protestation en Colombie contre les réformes fiscales, débutés le 28 avril dernier, mettent actuellement le président conservateur, Ivan Duque dos au mur. Rongée par misère causée par la crise liée à la pandémie de Covid-19 et la recrudescence de l’insécurité, la population colombienne gagne les rues pour réclamer de son gouvernement de meilleure conditions de vie.
Certains des mouvements de rues ces dernières jours sont pour la plupart émaillés de violences. Ils ont déjà occasionné des pertes en vie humaine et des dégâts matériels considérables. Selon un bilan dressé par le pouvoir, durant les récentes manifestations populaires, le pays a déjà enregistré pas moins de 25 morts et plus de 15 000 blessés.
La police colombienne a utilisé des méthodes répressives pour disperser les manifestations anti-gouvernementale. Une attitude qui est ouvertement critiquée par l’ONU, les États-Unis, l’Union européenne et plusieurs organisations internationales de défense des droits humains.
Pour répondre à ces critiques, Ivan Duque et son équipe se cachent derrière la théorie faisant croire que les mouvements de protestation populaire sont entachées d’actes de vandalisme. Aussi ont-ils déclaré que ces manifestations de rues sont infiltrées par des guérilleros et des groupes de gangs narcotrafiquants.
